Peach

The Peach is a fruit that originated in China, they are a species of the Prunus. The peach tree can grow from 4 to 10 meters or 13 to 34 feet. The leaves from the Peach tree are around 7–16 cm. The Peach tree flower's early in the spring, before the leaves. The fruit is a pinkish orange color. The Peach bruises easily, But it is very firm. Peaches were originated in China, and brought over to Persia, now called (Iran) and the Mediterranean region. Peaches with white flesh are very sweet but have a little acid, while peaches with yellow flesh have a big acidic tang and are a lot less sweeter. Mostly all peaches also have a red color to them. white-fleshed peaches are extremely popular in China, unlike Europe and North America's peaches which usually have a acidic, yellow-fleshed peaches.  Peaches where mentioned back in the 10th Century B.C. In Chinese characters. It's English name comes from the Latin name "Malum Persicum" Which means "Persian Apple". Which is pêche in French. Then it finally translates to "Peach" in English. Alexander The Great brought the fruit to Europe after conquering Persia. Later it was brought to America by Spanish explorers in the 16th century, and made it to England in the 17th century, It was prized the "albeit rare, treat".
