Antarctica

Everybody knows Antarctica and how cold it is. Antarctica is the coldest place on earth. Antarctica can get up to -89.2c that is cold. I is hard to believe that Antarctica was once a none ice covered continent. Antarctica was once a place that you could live in. the only proof we have of Antarctica's tropical land is the history of Christopher Columbus. People do not really live in Antarctica. The population in Antarctica is 1000 to 5000. Almost all the people that are in Antarctica do not really live there just there for science and research. the isn't much wild live in Antarctica although Antarctica has a few animals and not too many plants. There are only like 3 species of animals, Seals, Birds, Whales, and penguins. when think of Antarctica you think of a small plot of link covered in ice. Antarctica is fairly large is the fifth largest counted after Asia, Africa. north America, ans south America. Antarctica has only 2 percent of green land or dessert the rest is just ice. Antarctica has lots of lakes and ponds bad thing is they turned into one big road of ice so the animals have to brake the ice to get some fish and other see creatures. Antarctica isn't really a place you would take a holiday because it gets very cold actually to cold that even have to wear a special fabricated suit to keep warm. Antarctica is cold all year around. If you want to find Antarctica it will normally be located on the bottom of the globe. Antarctica has been know for there big icebergs. Icebergs in Antarctica are the most dangerous. The reason why Icebergs are dangerous in Antarctica is because they are so large that when they fall apart and crash into the water in makes a gigantic wave and the icy shores. So there you have a little to think about on Antarctica.

Table Manners

When one is in company it is very important to know how to behave politely and respectfully. Manners help form character and personality, and also to reveal the character of others. Manners are rules that teach us how to conduct ourselves courteously in many aspects of life. From the way we eat to the way we play. However, I only wish to cover table manners.
Table manners are polite ways of eating. Here are some important rules to eating:

1. When the food is ready and you've been called to the table, see if anyone needs assistance with seating before you sit down. Sit up straight with both feet in front of you and touching the floor.
2. Don't be greedy and pile food on your plate, but If the food is too far down the table ask somebody nicely to pass it to you. 3. While eating never talk loudly. Also while at the table never talk or text on the phone. 4. Sneezing and yawning is bad to do at the table but if you must than you must cover your mouth with your hand or your handkerchief. 5. Depending on who you are with it is good to ask for more food but make sure that you plate is empty. 6. When your main meal is finished you will be offered desert but if you are full you say politely no thank you or yes please. If you are offered any thing else just say no thank you or yes please. 7. When you want to leave the table you first must say," May I be excused ," never imply that you have to go to the restroom. 8. When everybody is finished with their food and leave the table you must do likewise and thank them for the meal. 9. If you are leaving the house always thank the host for having you. Table manners are not so difficult at all.

If you have good manners manners sometimes you will be lucky and be invited again. Never be lazy around others nor be bad around them for it will only give you a bad character and personality. What I shared with you was only a small portion of manners and etiquette. The first president of the Unites Sates wrote a guide and it contained one hundred manners. The provided link is George Washington's 100 manners.

Fishing Net

Fishing nets are good inventions. To bad we don't know who the inventor was. Fishing nets have been in the world since the fall of man. Fishing nets are used to catch fish. Fishing nets were invented for catching multiple fish all at one time. Surprisingly , there are 14 different types of fishing nets. The diffrent types of fishing nets are a Hand net , Lave net , Cast net , Coracle fishing , Chinese nets , Gillnet , Drift net , Ghost net , Take net , Drive-in net , Fyke net , Trammel , Seine , and a Trawl. A fishing net is made by knotting thin threads together. Modern nets are normally made from nylon. Organic nets are made from silk and wool. Fishing nets are cast into the water in different ways. If the net is square you can grab two corners of one side and cast it into the water. As you cast make sure it spins so it will go further. It is seldom done this way in today's world. Many fishing nets have a net with a pole attached to it. The pole attached to the net allows you to put the net into the water into the water and wave it around hoping many fish are near you to catch them. To make money selling fishing nets ,may be difficult.
Fishing with a net is normally for big fish businesses because they have big ships that if you put a net beneath the boat the net will catch all kinds of fish even the fish you don't wont. There can be problems with nets because if if tangles it can take many hours to untangle. Fishing nets is mainly for business fishing but can be a good hobby for the single fisherman or the single fisherman can just use a simple fishing pole .

Satellites

It is very important to know how satellites are important to our world today. Almost 60 percent of our world depends on satellite. Many people think that satellites are just there for the television (TV) and the Internet. Satellites have many purposes other than just TV and the Internet. There are more important types of satellites and to name a few they are communication satellites, navigation satellites, weather satellites, and research satellites. Communication satellites are used for cell phones, house phones, internet, and any other kind of communicational devices that may be needed. How does a cell phone which uses a satellite work when the satellite is very far away in orbit traveling around the earth? All cell phones have a chip called a sim card. The sim card connects to the satellite by using wireless electricity. The cell phone sending the signal travels and is received by the satellite. The satellite then transmits the wireless signal to the receiving cell phone. Another type of satellite is the navigation satellite using global positioning, also know as global positioning service (GPS) navigation. Many businesses, the military, and people like you and me who get lost easily use the navigation satellite. This keeps us all from being lost during travel. The GPS navigation satellite works almost the same way as a cell phone. The user has a device that communicates to the satellite and the satellite transmits the current position back to the user. The user can be a person in a car or the device in a missile going to destroy a target. The first satellite was launched into orbit around the earth by the Soviet Union on October 4 , 1957. It was named the Sputnik 1. The interesting thing about the Sputnik 1 was they put a trained dog inside of the satellite and sent it to the orbit. You are probably wondering how a satellite works in space, especially the power supply. The power supply comes from the sun as the sun is always out in space. The satellites have big solar panels and they absorb the sunlight and makes energy just like any other solar panel. The reason why the satellite stays in orbit around the world is because the the earth's gravitational magnetic field. In fact the satellite will eventually fall to the earth over time and may burn up. The satellite needs to be as light as possible so it can be put into orbit with as little energy required. Therefore, it is not self operating being controlled by a people on earth. All US and many other country's satellites are controlled and regulated on earth by the government agency called the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Satellites are great and necessary inventions.
