Pruning Pears

Gen 1:11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

The Pear is small and most of the time eaten hard.  They are grown in cool climates.  Pear's originated on the third day of creation but are traced to be widely grown in South Africa.  Pear's are often called "The Silver Fruit", and "pomaceous fruit".  Some species are valued highly.  Pear's were also grown by the Romans but they did not eat them raw, Roman's ate them steamed with honey, or steamed them with spices.  There are about 3000 known types of pears grown worldwide;  in the US only 10 types of pear's are recognized.
