The word Banana, comes from a African Language named wolof, the word for banana is, Banaana.  Bananas are fruits they come in different sizes and colors when ripe, these are some of them yellow, purple, and red. Banana is a very common name and fruit.  The word Banana means: Dessert, soft, and tasty.  Bananas were first widely grown in Malaysia, now they are grown world wide. Bananas are in the family of Musaceae. Banana plants are tall and many times mistaken for trees. Bananas can grow 20 to 24.9 feet.  Banana trees have probably about 4 to 20 fruits on each tier on the tree. Bananas are put into ice cream, cakes, tarts, or eaten plain. The core of the banana plant's trunk is used in the Burmese dish mohinga. Banana leaves are large, flexible, and waterproof.  Banana fiber is used in the production of banana paper.  Banana paper is used in two different senses: to refer to a paper made from the bark of the banana plant, mainly used for artistic purposes, or paper made from banana fiber. In Burma, green bananas surrounding a green coconut in a tray form an important part of traditional offerings to the Buddha and the Nats.  Bananas are transported over long distances from the tropics to world markets.  The fruit requires careful handling, cooling, and refrigerated shipping.  As a non-seasonal crop, bananas are available fresh year-round.  Wild banana trees have very hard seeds.  Southeast Asian farmers were one of the first farmers who grew the bananas as far as history can go back. The original bananas contained large seeds, while the triploid bananas have very small seads.  Most farms supply local consumption.   In East African highlands bananas are of greatest importance as a staple food crop. Bananas are well known as trading fruits.  In 2009, India was the biggest grower and seller of bananas, with 28% approximately.
