The Leghorn is a breed of chicken with origins in Tuscany. There are not many pure breed Leghorns. They law around 280 eggs per year. Their eggs are white with a little brown tinch.
Leghorns rarely go broody. Their eggs are white and of good size. Leghorn chicks are fast growers and mature quickly. They can be rather noisy and will roost in trees given the chance. They are not good meat birds becuase they are not meaty.
