Ice fishing

Ice fishing is when you fish on ice with lines and fish hooks they cut a round hole in the ice and then start fishing in it. It is popula pastime in Finland, Norway, Europa, Poland, Russia, Sweden,  Germany and. In the United States. Some people from the northern states who have big and cold lakes also ice fish in North America. People rent fish houses often. In North America, people buy portable houses which appear to create a city at places where fishing is best. Ice fishing gear is specialized. they use an ice saw or auger or chisel to cut a circular hole or larger rectangular hole in the ice. A 8 inch or 20 cm hole is drilled through the ice. People use great axes if these are not available axes are used to chop a hole in the ice. If it it very cold Fishermen use a heater. The heater is for warmth and it also keeps an fisherman warm and keeps a hole from freezing. When it reaches -20 F or colder it is very hard to fish because the whole closes up. There is also a game called. Many fishermen will go out in 2.5 inches of ice for walking but it is way safer to do it in 4 inches, 5 to 6 inches for Sleds, You have to be care full because there might be a place in the ice which is very thin so you might fall in it. Did you know in Lake Erie February 2009 100 fisherman had to be rescued by helicopters and coast guards. In tale winter there is soft ice or rotten ice it is very dangerous fishing in that. Some ice fishermen will still fish when its more ice than they need.Fishermen will still have a safety device with them thought that would pull them out of the water.
